Pride of place this week goes to Glebe Rangers who by defeating Windmill Stars by the odd goal in three have reached the Semi-Finals of the Match Sponsored IFA Internmediate Cup

The weather took a turn for the worse on Saturday resulting in a total of Six games being called off due to excess water being on the playing surfaces of the grounds.

LEAGUE

BANGOR FC 4 COOKSTOWN YOUTH 3

After a bright start the Youth took te lead after Rene Matiko scored on the 7th minute and held this advantage until Andly Long equalised for Bangor on the 19th minute.  The Youth went in front for a second time after Ryan O'Neil scored on the 21st minute and increased their advanrage when Lee Glasgow scored on the 40th minute. Bangor replied to this with Mark Magennis scoring on the 41st minute. Bangor got back level after Ben Roy scored on the 47th minute and went in front after Mark Magennis scored his second goal on the 48th minute. After this chances came and went but at the end it was the odd goal in seven that saw Bangor claim the three points. Referee Mr. Jimmy Johnston

NEWTOWNE 3 BRANTWOOD 1

Newtowne went in front after Blain Morrison scored on the 11th minute and held this lead until Mark Tweedie equalised for Brantwood on the 33rd minute. Half-time was then approacghing when Billy Dorans score on the 40th minute putting Newtowne in front at the break. Brantwood pushed hard for the equalisr in the second half but Newtowne held firm at the back and seaeld the win when Billy Dorans scored his second goal on the 85th minute. Referee Mr. Kyle Barr

COAGH UNITED 1 St JAMES SWIFTS 1

Both teams kept it tight during the first-half resulting in no goals being scored before half-time. A similar style of play followed in the second half until Padraig McCormack scored for St James on the 59th minute. Coagh went in search of the equaliser after this which came with Stefan Thompson scoring on the 88th minute. Referee Mr. Rionnie Allen  

DUNLOY 4 DESERTMARTIN 0

The rainiy conditions certainly did not help either team and made the conditions under-foot slippery. Dunloy took their chance on the 39th minute with John John McFerran scoring putting them in front at half-time. Dunloy increased their lead after Karl Fitzpatrick scored on the 58th minute then Conal Dooey made it three nil on the 60th minute. Desertmartin tried hard to get back into the game but Liam McCann scored number four for Dunloy to seal the win on the 79th minute.

COOKSTOWN RBL 8 CHIMNEY CORNER 0

RBL wentin in at half-time leading by threegoals to nil then scored another five goals in the second half. RBL Goals were scored by the following: David Lee (2), Jonny Ferguson (2), Jonny Taylor (2), Lee Hunter (1) and an own goal.

GLEBE RANGERS 2 WINDMILL STARS 1

Glebe got a bit of a shock when they conceded the fist goal in the game on the 5th minute. After this Glebe took control but were still trailing to the sinlge goal at half-time. Glebe kept pusing forward after this getting  a deserved equaliser when Ian Christie scored on the 65th minute. After this Glebe went all-out for the winning goal whach came with extra-time looming on the 88th minute scored by Josh Elliott sending their supporters into raptures and claim their place in the semi-final draw.

JUNIOR DIVISIONS LEAGUE GAMES

ONE

NEWINGTON YC RES 3 3rd BALLYCLARE OB 0

The first forty five minutes of this game saw little or no difference bewteen the teams with no goals being scored. This changed on the 48th minute when Daniel Moore scored putting Newington in front. Ballyclare had to chase the game after this then Patrick Downey scored a second goal for Newington on the 51st minute. Ballyclare tried hard to get back into the game but Newington held firm at the back getting a third goal scored by Christopher Craig on the 82nd minute.

DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS 2 ANTRIM ROVERS 6

Antrim went in front after Tommy Bownes scored on the 7th minute then went on to double their lead afterTommy Bownes scored his second goal on the 40th minute. Half-time was almost reached when Matthew Scott scored on the 42nd minute for Desertmartin. Antrim restored their two goal lead after Adam Foster scored on the 50th minute then Pierce McLarnon scored for Desertmartin on the 55th minute. Tommy Bownes completetd his hat-trick on the 66th minute followed by goals scored by Ryan Worthington 78th minute and Jordan McKelvey 83rd minute completing the scoring for Antrim.

CASTLE STAR 3 BRANTWOOD-LOUGHSIDE      2

An own goal conceded by the Castle saw Brantwood in front on the 17th minute then Luke Watters doubled the Brantwood lead on the 23rd minute. Castle got back into the game after Paul Garvey scored on the 44th minute then got back on level terms after Joel McMurtry scored on the 49th minute. After this both teams had chances to score but the result was settled by an own goal conceded by Brantwood on the 70th minute. Referee Mr. Bert Purdy

ANTRIM ROVERS SWIFTS 0 KILLYMOON RANGERS 5

Killymoon went in front after David Frizzle scored on the 12th minute then had to wait until David Frizzle scored his second goal on the 42nd minute for their second goal. Robert Allen then scored on the 43rd minute putting Killymoon three goals in front at half-time. Craig Thompson made it four nil on the 51st minute and the final goal was scored by Stuart Donaghy on the 86th minute. Referee Mr. Matthew Shaw

North End went in front after Daniel Fahy scored on the 6th minute then saw Raicky Johnston equalise for Red Star on the 33rd minute. Half-time saw the teams still level then Jon Gracey put North End back in front on the 56th minute followed by goals scored by Sammy McGuckin 61st minute, Ryan Leitch 66th minute and Craig Jenkins 75th minute.
