                                                                            CANADA TROPHY FINAL

WOODLANDS FC             2              COOKSTOWN YOUTH           0

The pitch at Allen Park was in its usual good condition and allowed both teams to get the ball on the ground and play lots of good football. Unfortunately when it came to scoring goals both teams who have been prolific all season in this department drew blanks prior to half-time causing Keepers Johnny Chambers of Woodlands and Gareth McIlhatton of Cookstown little trouble. The second half was then in the 52nd minute when Woodlands were awarded a free kick on the right wing, Johnny McFetridge put over a good cross which saw Ross Oliver out-jump everyone heading the ball into the top corner of the Cookstown Net. Things got better for Woodlands on the 54th minute when a speculative shot from Alex Haggan spin out of the Cookstown Keeper hands ending up in the Net. After this Cookstown had to chase the game but found Woodlands to be standing firm in defence to win the Trophy. After the Final whistle the League Chairman Ian Shiels presented the Trophy to the Woodlands Captain Chris Pollock
