        SEASON 2016-17

The weather took a down turn at the week-end but fortunately we only lost five games as a result.  The games that were off included Crawford Cup, O’Gorman Cup and Canada Trophy plus one Intermediate and one Junior League games.

It is hoped the weather settles down again and we get back to the weather we were enjoying prior to Christmas.

                                                                O’GORMAN CUP 1st ROUND

COAGH UNITED 3              MAGHERAFELT SKY BLUES         0

Both teams played it very tight from the kick off and as a result no goals were scored during the first-Half. Things then changed with the game opening up in the second half which saw Ricky Donaghy scoring for Coagh on the 60th minute. After this the Sky Blues had to chase the game then had a man sent off on the 75thminute. Being man short hit the Sky Blues hard with Coagh scoring two more goals through Aaron Campbell on the 80th minute and Matthew Kempton on the 85th minute to go through to meet Newtowne in the 2nd Round.

Referee Mr. Gerard Murray

A semi-final spot was at stake in this game and it took extra-time to divide the teams in an enthralling match. Sofa went in front after Anduramane So scored on the 18th minute then Newtowne equalise after Blain Morrison scored on the 25th minute. Newtowne went in front after Blain Morrison scored his second goal on the 37th minute and as half-time was almost up Jack Heaney scored number three for Newtowne on the 45th minute. Half-time saw the team’s level then on the 55th minute Paddy McGoldrick scored his second goal putting Remo back in front.
