Best wishes from everyone in the league are extended to Cookstown Olympic who meet Cleary Celtic in the Final of the Mid-Ulster Shield on Tuesday Morning 18th April 2017 @ 11.00m. Venue is at Holm Park. Newry Road. Armagh


On Friday Night the first League Knock-Out Cup Final will be played which will see Dunloy v Newtowne @ the Joey Dunlop Centre Ballymoney with a 7.30pm kick off.


On the league front:

Intermediate: Coagh United with an important 2-1 win over Wakehurst on Saturday enhanced their chances to lift the Connor Cup which dates back to 1897. Glebe Rangers with 4 games left and Wakehurst 3 games are still in the race but if Coagh win their last two games it will be all over for them.


Junior Division One: It has become a Three team race, Woodlands have the points in the bag and have four games left to play while Cookstown Youth have to play 6 and Newington 7. Woodlands have to play Cookstown Youth @ Carrickfergus and Newington home and away. If Woodlands wins these three games they will be in a strong position to lift the Title


Junior Division Two: The winners will be decided on Saturday when 3rd Ballyclare OB travel to Remo FC If the Old Boys win they take the title but it will be the reverse if Remo Beat the Old Boys by Ten clear goals they will take the title.


Suspensions: Two teams namely Shore Road YM and Whitehead Rangers have been suspended for failing to honour their commitments to the league.

At the start of this game both teams required the win in the quest to win the league title. The first-half saw a few chances but at half-time no goals were scored. Wakehurst then a had a couple of good chances to score early in the second half before Zac Barr put them in front on the 55th minute. Wakehurst still had the advantage until they gave away a penalty on the 80th minute which Andy Neill converted for Coagh. Coagh then hit Wakehurst with a second goal on the 83rd minute scored by Aaron Campbell which saw Coagh take three very valuable points at the final whistle.                  Referee Mr Gareth Stewart

Brantwood went in front after Mark Tweedie scored on the 19th minute and held this advantage until Jon Boyd scored a second goal for Brantwood on the 45th minute. Desertmartin got back into the game when Jon Smyth scored on the 63rd minute then were back on level terms after Robin Patton scored on the 66th minute. Both teams tried hard for the winning goal but at the end it was a point to each team.                Referee Mr. Joshua Porter


                                GLEBE RANGERS              7              CHIMNEY CORNER          1

Glebe were in front on the first minute through a goal scored by Ian Christie who then scored his second goal on the 4th minute. The Corner got back into the game after Sean McCashin converted a penalty on the 43rdminute. David Reid scored a third goal for Glebe on the 52nd minute then the Corner went down to ten men having a player sent off for a second yellow card. Luke Mitchell then came on for Glebe and helped himself to three goals scored on teh 70th, 71st and 85th minutes. The game was then in the 90th minute when Jon Spence scored the final goal in the game and the Corner had a second man dismissed.                   Referee Mr. Samuel Forsythe

Newtowne went in front after Rory O’Reilly converted a penalty on the 8th minute then doubled their lead after Jack Heaney scored on the 19th minute. Half-time still saw Newtowne lead by two goals then a brace of goals scored by Ryan Logue on the 63rd and 75th minutes sealed the win for Newtowne. Referee Mr. Gary Crawford

Games between these two teams are always close run affair and Saturday was no different with the score being settled by the odd goal in three. Ballynure went in front after Kyle Agnew scored on the 18th minute but then saw Hugh Og Boyle equalise on the 27th minute. Ballynure regained the lead on the 34th minute through a goal scored by Adam Killen to lead at half-time. The second half saw both teams have a chance or two but no more goals were scored.                               Referee Mr. Sean Nolan

Ballynure got off to a great start with McFall scoring on the 3rd minute then doubling their advantage when Aaron Finn scored on the 10th minute. After this early flurry of goals no more were scored by either team though there were lots of good clear chances.            Referee Mr. Gareth Stewart






                COOKSTOWN YOUTH                    2              FC WHITEABBEY              0

The youth who are on the chase for league title honours won this game as they took their chances while Whiteabbey were not as effective around the goal area. The Youth went in front after Ricky McMenemy scored on the 21st minute then sealed the win when Ali Young scored their second goal on the 41st minute.

Newington went five goals ahead inside the first twenty minutes. Scorers were Mark Kelly 2md and 15th, Daniel Moore 8 and 18th and Pardep Hawa 19th minutes. Daniel Moore completed his hat trick on the 37th minute then his fourth goal on the 41st minute. Daniel Moore scored his fifth goal on the 47th minute and Pardep Hawa three more on the 63rd, 80th and 85th minutes with a goal scored by Chris Bradley in between on the 75th minute.     Referee Mr Paul Aston

Newington notched up another good win beating Brantwood by four clear goals scored by Daniel Moore (2), Conal McKeown and Dan Kelly.                      Referee Mr. Rodney Campbell

This was another win and a game less to play for the Youth who won the game thanks to two goals scored by Mark Larmour on the 20th and 35th minutes.                          Referee Mr. Brian Leitch

This game brought both teams playing season to an end. Ross McFall scored to put Ballynure in front on the 35th minute followed by a second goal scored by Jonny Kane on teh 43rd minute. Mountainview kit back with Billy Brown scoring on the 55th minute then getting back level after Jon Shields scored on the 52nd minute. A draw appeared to be on the cards until Neil Agnew and Mark Moore scored for Ballynure on the 80th and 88th minutes.                               Referee Mr Tommy Waide

Whitehead Rangers forfeited the game 3-0 to Ballyclare North End as they are suspended due to not fulfilling their commitments to the league
