With a great change in the weather all scheduled games were played on Saturday and with the league results a number of teams are improving their positions for honours at the end of the season.

It will be a very interesting run in with mid-week games where possible under lights and then in the clear evening from April onwards.






                SOFIA FARMER                               2              COOKSTOWN RBL          1

Sofia went down to ten players on the 8th minute after having a man sent off for a straight red card by the referee. After this play settled down with Sofia taking the lead after Sergio Duarte scoring on the 20th minute and at half-time this goal still separated the teams. The second half saw Sofia hold RBL at bay then RBL had a man get sent off for a straight red card on the 72nd minute. Time was then running down quickly when Gary Donaldson scored the equaliser for RBL on the 84thminute.     Referee Mr. Stephen Anderson


                CHIMNEY CORNER                          0              NEWTOWNE       9             

Newtowne with three early goals scored by Richard King 5th minute and a brace from Paul McIvor on the 10th and 18th minutes and Ryan Twist 30th minute put Newtowne in a strong position that they never relaxed. More goals followed in the second half scored by Paul McIvor 61st and 81st, Gary Moore 70th, Ryan Mullan 77th and Conor Logue 84th minutes.                       Referee Mr. Simon McKay                


                BRANTWOOD                                   0              St JAMES SWIFTS            2

There was nothing between the teams during the first-half of this game until Brantwood had a player sent off on the 44th minute. St James went in front after Sean Pat Donnelly scored on the 49th minute then added a second goal on the 53rd which in the end sealed the points.                Referee Mr. Shane McGonigle


                BANGOR                                              8              DESERTMARTIN               0

Bangor were certainly firing on all cylinders in this game after Sammy Devine scored their first goal on the 26th minute. Gerard McMullan scored number two on the 36th minute then a blitz of goals scored by Ethan Boylan 40th, Mark Cooling 41st and Ben Roy 45th minutes more or less killed the game. Ben Roy scored his second goal on the 54th minute followed by Keith Armstrong on the 68th and Gareth Beattie on the 77th minutes.

Games between these two teams are always close run affairs and the game on Saturday was no different though the one big difference was the lack of goals. No goals were scored during the fist-half and a similar pattern followed in the second except for the solitary goal scored by Robert Watson on the 58th minute that sealed the win for Ballynure.         Referee Mr. Iain Banks

It was the defences of both teams who came out on top in this game with goal scoring opportunities having to be really crafted out. Half-time saw no goals scored then on the 68th minute Darren Adair scored the only goal to win the game for the Rovers.             Referee Mr. Paul Aston

With this win Newington keep the pressure on Woodlands at the top of the league table. Ballynure proved to be  hard team to beat and it was thanks to a goal scored by Joseph Meaney and an own goal that saw Newington collect the three points.              Referee Mr. Brian Leitch


                COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC               0              WOODLANDS                    3

Woodlands stay clear at the top of the division with this win over a good team in the Olympic. Half-time saw Woodlands in front thanks to a goal scored by Thomas Ogilvie. Woodlands went on to score two more goals in the second half through Thomas Ogilvie and Ross Oliver to seal the win.          Referee Mr. Gary Crawford   



                NORTHEND UNITED YOUTH         3              CLOUGH RANGERS ATHLETIC    5

This game was a personal triumph for the Clough player-manager Ricky Ross who scored all his team’s five goals. Clough went in front after Ricky Ross scored on the 10th minute then converted a penalty on the 13th minute. Northend got a goal back after Gareth Owens scored on the 20th minute then two more goals scored by Rocky Ross on the 21st and 34th minutes saw Clough go three goals clear. Josh Logan scored a second goal for Northend on the 41st minute then with half-time looming Rick Ross scored his fifth goal in the game on the 43rd minute. Northend got their third goal on the 49th minute when Aaron Campbell scored with a blistering free kick but unfortunately this was the last goal in the game.  Referee Mr. Matthew Shaw.

RBL took an early lead after Julio Ramos scored on teh 4th minute and at half-time this goal still separated the teams. Brantwood got back on level terms after Adam Killen scored on the 49th minute then got the winner after Colin Watters scored on the 75th minute.           Referee Mr. Kenny Tipping

Both teams will look back and ask how did this game end with no goals as both had numerous chances to score throughout the ninety minutes. Referee Mr. Rodney Campbell


                KILLYMOON RANGERS              7              68th NEWTOWNABBEY ‘A’            2

Killymoon went in front after Warren Smyth scored on the 3rd minute then went two nil in front after Stuart Donaghy scored on the 25th minute. The 68th pulled a goal back after Dave Blair scored on the 29th minute then  Richard Donaghy scored a third for Killymooon on the 38th minute. Killymoon scored two more goals through Warren Smyth and Stuart Donaghy on the 41st and 46th minutes before Eddie Bell converted a penalty for the 68th on the 58th minute. Warren Smyth completed his hat-trick on the 61st minute followed by Chris McNicholl scoring the last goal on the 81st minute.           Referee Mr. Kenny Bigger

Both teams kept it very tight for teh first half-hour then Gary Montgomery put Carnlough ahead when he scored on the 35th minute. Greenisland drew level after Colin Hinton scored on the 46th minute and went in front after Colin Hinton scored his second goal on the 55th minute. Play was then beginning to run down when Gary Montgomery put Carnlough back on level terms when he scored on the 83rd minute followed by Gamal Selhin scoring the winner on the 86th minute.                Referee Mr. Timmy Waide


                NORTH BELFAST UNITED             6              68th NEWTOWNABBEY ‘B’            2

The 68th went two goals clear after Kyle Mann scored and Willie Jordan converted penalty early in the game. Goals from Sean Derry and Jason Bannon for North Belfast saw the team’s level at half-time. Jason Bannon then completed his hat-trick followed by a fourth goal before Marty Cousins scored the final goal in the game.

Rathcoole notched up another win and remain at the top of the league table. Rathcoole led 4-1 at half-time then six more goals in the second half completed the scoring. Rathcoole goals were scored by, Alex Crawford 4, Aaron Lindsay 2, and goals apiece for Jordan Armstrong, Andy Neil, Glenn Mayne and Matty Doyle

The Colts raced into an early two goal lead after Ryan O’Neil scored on the 9th and 13th minutes. Paul Stewart then made it four nil for the Colts with goals on the 30th and 44th minutes. Ryan Clawson got a goal back for Carrick on the 46th minute before Ryan O’Neil completed his hat trick on the 55th minute. Carrick narrowed the gap with goals scored by David White and Ryan Clawson on the 73rd and 77th minutes before Miguel Alin scored number six for the Colts on the 79th minute.                     Referee Mr. Samuel Forsythe.

This was a very closely contested cup tie with the winning goal being scored as time was running down. Ballyclare went in front after Sammy Duff scored on the 20th minute. As half-time was then approaching Matty Fegan equalised for Mallusk on the 37th minute. The second half saw both teams go all-out for the winning goal which went to Ballyclare after Steven Howe scored on the 81st minute.                            Referee Mr. Charlie Pollock
