This was a very close game and it was a very late goal that secured the win for Wakehurst. Time was running down when Stuart Nixon scored the equaliser for Wakehurst on the 80th minute.                                 DUNLOY                               0              NEWTOWNE               3

One reason only three goals were scored in this game was down to excellent goalkeeping by both Keepers and in particular Cahir Mullan in goal for Newtowne who made three saves when faced by a one to one situation in the first fifteen minutes of the second half. At the other end Sean Doherty in goal for Dunloy was also in top form saving his team by tipping two excellent efforts over the bar. The first chance in the game fell to Dunloy on the 15th minute but Keeper Mullan made a fine save. At the other end on the 19th minute Paul McIvor was round the Keeper but put his effort the wrong side of the post. The game was then in the 33rd minute when a cross from Ryan Logue on the left came off Paul McIvor then a Dunloy player and ended in the net. On the 40th minute Keeper Mullan excelled again bringing off a superb save to deny John John McFerran. The second half saw some excellent goalkeeping until on the 78th minute Paul McIvor put Rory O’Reilly clear on the right wing and from his perfect cross Jack Heaney rose to head in a peach of a goal putting Newtowne two in front. The pace of the game never slackened then on the 90th minute Dunloy conceded a penalty which Rory O’Reilly converted to bring and excellent game to an end. The Cup was then presented to the Newtowne Captain Ryan Logue by the League Chairman Mr. Ian Shiels
