The poor weather at the week-end saw 4 games not played then due to IFA Junior Cup taking 5 referees saw 4 junior games being lost due to no official referees being available.


The situation regarding referees has reached crisis point across the football family in particular at Junior Level. If there are any people interested in attending a referee coaching course please contact Billy McIlroy on 07718809314 for information.





                COAGH UNITED                               5              BALLYNURE OB                2

After a steady start by both teams Coagh went in front after Gerard McGeown scored on the 16th minute then saw Kyle Agnew equalise for Ballynure on the 25th minute. Half-time was almost reached when Matthew Kempton put Coagh back in front on the 41st minute but back came Ballynure to equalise when Adam Killen scored on the 45th minute. Coagh went in front for a third time after Jamie Tomelty score on the 46th minute which then saw Ballynure go all-out for another equaliser. Coagh held firm at the back then two goals scored by Jamie Ferguson and Stewart Glasgow on the 88th and 91st minutes sealed the win for Coagh.

Bangor were first to settle in this game and went in front after Gerard McMullan scored on the 29th minute and at half-time this scoreline remained. Andy Long scored a second goal for Bangor on the 51st minute followed by Gerard McMullan scoring his second on the 61st minute. Andy Long scored his second goal on the 68th minute putting Bangor four goals clear. Newtowne reduced the deficit after Blain Morrison scored on the 81st minute then on the 91st minute Dale Patton scored number five for Bangor.            Referee Mr. Simon McKay


                COOKSTOWN YOUTH                    3              BRANTWOOD       2

There was very little to chose between the two teams during the first-half except a goal scored by James Leslie on the 35th minute for Cookstown. Brantwood got back on level terms after Curtis Dempster scored on the 47th minute and this score remained until Steven McGuckin scored for Cookstown on the 65th minute. Brantwood came back to equalise when Dean Abbott scored on the 75th minute. Both teams went for the winner after this with Barry Kelly heading in the winner for Cookstown on the 82nd minute.               Referee Mr. Noel Crossan

Woodlands went in front in this game after Ross Oliver scored on the 19th minute then doubled their score when Dean Watson scored on the 24th minute. The Corner hit back with Kieran Toner scoring on the 30th minute and Anto Philpott getting the equaliser on the 42nd minute. Woodlands went in front again after Alex Haggan scored on the 57th minute then Darren Selby converted a penalty for the Corner on the 70th minute. The match was then heading into extra-time when Alex Haggan struck twice on the 91st and 93rd minutes to complete his hat-trick and win the game for Woodlands.                    Referee Mr. Paul Douglas

RBL took an early lead in the game after Geoff Booth converted a penalty kick on the 15th minute. Dunloy got back on level terms after Declan McGarry scored on the 25th minute then went in front after Conal Dooey scored on the 40th minute. Dunloy increased their lead after Karl Fitzpatrick scored on the 50th minute then added a fourth when Conal Dooey scored his second goal on the 70th minute. Time was then running down when Geoff Booth scored his second goal for RBL on the 85th minute.            Referee Mr. Paul Ramsey

The first-half of this game was fairly evenly divided except for the goal scored by Jordan Hill on the 29th minute that saw Ballynure in front at the break. Brantwood got back on level terms after Ryan McLean scored the equaliser on the 52nd minute. Both teams went for the winner after this which went to Brantwood after Gareth McAuley converted a penalty on the 69th minute.    Referee Mr. Bert Purdy

This was a fast game played on a slick 3g pitch which allowed the teams to swing the ball around. Desertmartin went in front after Solomon Lubwama scored on the 12th minute then saw Conor Mullan equalise or Whiteabbey on teh 15th minute. Desertmartin went in front for a second time after Matthew Mulholland scored on the 23rd minute and at half-time still held the lead. Whiteabbey got back level after Sean Cowler scored on the 50th minute then went in front after Marty Cousins scored on the 70th minute. Desertmartin came back with Matthew Mulholland scoring his second goal in the game n the 83rd minute giving the teams a point each.

RBL went in front after an early goal on the 1st minute but then saw Ricky Ross score a hat-trick for Clough with goals on the 26th, 30th and 40th minutes. Clough then went on to score seven more goals in the second half through Kyle McRoberts 57th, Jonny Rice 67th, Lee Stewart 73rd, Colin Stewart 77th, Adrian McDonald 83rd an own goal 86th and Mark Kerr 88th minutes.                                Referee Mr. Kieran Campbell

Rathcoole went in front in this game after Alex Crawford scored then saw Stephen McAllister convert a penalty for Carrick to level the game. Rathcoole came back to go in front again when Alex Crawford scored his second goal in the game then a second penalty converted by Stephen McAllister saw Carrick back on level terms. Rathcoole went in front for a third time in the game after Ross Watters scored but again Carrick hit back to level the game after Matthew Roscoe scored.               Referee Mr. Robert Swann

Red Star got off to a quick start in this game and taking an early lead after Joe Gibney scored on the 8th minute. Carnlough replied to this with the equaliser scored by Ciaran Martin on the 27th minute which saw the teams level at half-time. The second half saw both teams have a couple of good chances to score but at the end it was point to each team.              Referee Mr. Samuel Forsythe

Niall Southam scored for Newington early in the game then the visitors replied with the equaliser. Daniel Moore scored a brace of goals putting Newington two goals ahead before a brace scored by Mark Kelly saw Newington four goals clear at half-time. The second half saw Newington in control and a brace of goals from Daniel Moore bringing his tally to four in the game completed the scoring.

The home side went two goals in front before goals scored Dave Miller and Miguel Alin put the teams on level terms again. The Colts were always in the game until two late goals from the home side won them the tie.
