Saturday saw all games except three played due to wet conditions. Included in the game played were four O’Gorman Cup ties which saw Glebe Rangers progress to meet Desertmartin, St James Swifts to meet Sofia Farmer and Bangor to meet Chimney Corner for a place in the semi-finals. Brantwood with a home win over Newtowne are through to the semi-final where they will meet the winner of Glebe Rangers v Desertmartin.

In the Canada Trophy Round 2 there were wins for Woodlands and Desertmartin Swifts who now meet at Desertmartin in the Quarter Final.


Newington Youth Club Res progressed to the Quarter Finals of the IFA Junior Cup after defeating St Matthews 5-4 on penalties.

The Youth went in front on the 21st minute when Ryan O’Neil scored then doubled their lead after Kiefer Scott scored on the 26th minute. Half-time was then approaching when Steven Arrell scored goal number three on the 40th minute. Ryan O’Neil scored his second goal in the game on the 55th minute followed by a brace from Steven Arrell to complete his hat trick on the 60th and 89th minutes completing the scoring on the day.

With Gareth Pitts back in the helm as manager Desertmartin have been showing good form of late and this continued on Saturday.  Desertmartin went in front after Robin Patton scored then got a second goal scored by Mark Shiels to lead two nil at half-time. RBL tried hard to get back into the game but Robin Patton with his second goal in the game sealed the win for Desertmartin.                Referee Mr. Matthew Gilchrist

Bangor took an early lead after Keith Armstrong scored on the 9th minute then got a second after Ross Craig scored on the 15th minute. Stoppage time was then being played in the first-half when Robert Watson got Ballynure back into the game when he scored on the 47th minute. The second half saw Bangor still a goal to the good until Gerard McMullan scored a third goal for them on the 88th minute. Ballynure then got a second through an own goal on the 92nd minute but at the final whistle the win went to Bangor,.

With good runs in the various cup competitions Glebe have a lot of ground to catch up on within the league Division. Glebe went in front after Ian Christie scored on the 10th minute then doubled their advantage after Ian Christie scored his second goal on the 33rd minute. Though two goals down Coagh were not out of the game then Davy Reid scored a third goal for Glebe on the 70th minute. Coagh had a good chance on the 72nd minute to reduce the deficit but the Glebe Keeper Glenn McMullan brought off a terrific save to keep the goals against blank.                                Referee Mr. Darren Hylands

This was a cracking cup tie with extra-time required to separate the teams. Dunloy went in front after Zac McConnell scored on the 31st minute and at half-time this goal separated the teams. St James got back on level terms after Padraig McCormick scored on the 59th minute. At the end of ninety minutes the teams were still locked together. Extra-time was then played with Eugene Gallagher scoring what proved to be the winning goal for St James on the 100th minute.                         Referee Mr. Ryan Hanna

These two teams have played against each other in a number of very tight games over the years and Saturday certainly lived up to this tradition. Chances came and went for both teams then with extra-time on the horizon up popped Brian Rainey to score the winner for Brantwood on the 85th minute.          Referee Mr. Mark Irwin

This game was played on a very slick fast 3g surface and this was to the liking of both teams who were able to pass the ball around. The only thing missing in the first-half was goals and this situation remained until Ciaran McKissock scored for the Sports on the 72nd minute then followed this with his second goal on the 78th minute. Antrim kept going getting a goal back after Jonny Rogers converted a penalty on the 81st minute then scoring his second goal on the 90th minute.                 Referee Mr. Tommy Waide

Brantwood went in front after Lloyd Watters scored on the 18thminute and this scoreline remained until Lloyd Watters scored his second goal on the 61st minute. Time was then almost up when Kyle Mann scored for 68th on the 92nd minute.               Referee Mr. Charlie Pollock

The first forty five minutes saw little to choose between the teams except for the goal scored by Stuart Donaghy on the 20thminute that saw Killymoon in front at half-time. Antrim got back on level terms after Ryan Gallagher scored on the 76th minute only to see Ciaran McNicholl put Killymoon back in front with the winning goal on the 77th minute.                       Referee Mr. Matthew Shaw


NORTHEND UNITED YOUTH                         2              CASTLE STAR                                       5

Northend though beaten gave a very good account of themselves and their young players are getting the experience they need in their progression against more experienced teams such as the Castle. Goals scored by Paul Garvey and Joel McMurtry saw Castle in front before 17 year old Joshua Logan pulled goal back for Northend. As half-time approached Joel McMurtry scored his second goal, then goals from Paul Garvey and Joel McMurtry completing his hat-trick saw Castle in control before Ryan McNeil scored a second goal for Northend.                Referee Mr. Brian Leitch

Greenisland went in at half-time leading by two goals scored by Colin Hinton. Colin Hinton completed his hat-trick early in the second half before Stewart Bell scored for Carrick. Jordan Hasting and Curtis McCullough scored a brace of goals for Greenisland before Ryan Clawson and Marcin Klaczanski scored a couple for Carrick. Time was then running down when Karl Woodside scored the final goal in the game for Greenisland.

This was a very closely contested game with the winning goal scored by Rathcoole in stoppage time after ninety minutes.  Half-time saw no goals scored then on the 52nd minute Alex Crawford put Rathcoole in front until Sean Derry scored the equaliser for North Belfast on the 87th minute. Play was then in stoppage time when Ross Watters and Jordan Long scored for Rathcoole on the 93rd and 94th minutes.                 Referee Mr. Russell Wilson

Desertmartin went in front after debutant Ryan Brown scored on the 14th minute and at half-time this goal separated the teams. Brantwood got back on level terms after Gareth McAuley converted a penalty on the 50th minute. Desertmartin replied to this with Ryan Brown scoring a brace of goal on the 53rd and 62nd minutes to complete his hat-trick and take his team into the next round when they will be at home to Woodlands.

After a steady start by both teams Woodlands went in front after Dean Watson scored on the 18th minute then saw and own goal conceded on the 21st minute put the teams back on level terms. Woodlands went ahead for a second time after Jonny Parkes scored on the 32nd minute. Ballynure never gave up the fight then a goal scored by Nathan McConnell on the 76th minute saw Woodlands safely through to the next round when they will be away to Desertmartin Swifts   Referee Mr. Gary Crawford
