Bangor FC won the O’Gorman Cup on Friday evening after a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Glebe Rangers in front of a bumper crowd of spectators at Allen Park Antrim


Friday evening 11th May will see Dunloy FC v Coagh United in the final of the McReynolds Cup at Allen Park Antrim kick off 7.00pm.


Admission to All Finals is Adults £5.00 with Children Under 12 Free


On the league front Woodlands ensured their runners-up spot in the Junior Division One with their Draw against Desertmartin Swifts

Killymoon Rangers after their win over Castle Star on Saturday look favourites to lift the Title in Junior Division Two while either Clough Rangers Athletic, Castle Star or Cookstown Youth Colts could finish in the runners-up spot.

Thanks to the Chimney Corner Staff Allen Park was in tip top shape for the Final which saw a very big attendance of supporters from both teams and many neutrals.               Both teams took a bit of time to settle and it was more of a mid-field battle than action around the goal areas during the first forty minutes. Thing the changed on the 43rd minute when a long ball into the goal area saw the Ball re-bound from the young Glebe Keeper Glenn McMullan to the feet of Ross Craig who slotted the ball into the empty net putting Bangor in front at half-time. The second half saw Glebe push forward in search of the equaliser which they got after Ian Christie scored on the 75th minute. Straight from the re-start Bangor went in front for a second time on the 76th minute after Ethan Boylan put Gerard McMullan clear to score from the edge of the penalty box. Glebe went all-out after this for the equaliser but Bangor held firm until the 93rd minute when Chad Dobbin scored for Glebe. Extra-time was then played with no goals being scored and Glebe having a man sent off for a second yellow card. Penalties were taken with Keeper Darren Gibbon saving the first two Glebe penalties and their third going over they crossbar leaving Bangor to collect the Cup after having scored their first three penalties. The Cup was then presented to the Bangor Captain Andy Long by the league Chairman Mr. Ian Shiels.

Both teams created a number of chances during the first forty-five minutes but at half-time the scoreline was still blank. A similar situation followed in the second half and at the end it was a point to each team.   Referee Mr. John Rossborough

Newtowne went in front after Evan Donnell scored on the 23rd minute and at half-time this goal separated the teams. Newtowne then scored two quick goal in the second half through Conor Logue on the 53rd minute and Declan Logue on the 57th minute. Coagh got back into the game after Jason Ferry scored on the 74th minute but could not break down Newtowne after this.

The Youth went in front after Paul Stewart scored early in the fist-half then Zac McConnell equalised for Dunloy on the 40th minute. Paul Stewart put the Youth back in front on the70th minute then two goals scored by Karl Fitzpatrick and Conal Cunning on the 80th and 85th minutes won the game for Dunloy.            Referee Mr. Jerome McElroy

A win was a must for Glebe in this game but they had to wait until the 50th minute for their first goal scored by Davy Reid then Chris Nicholl scored their second on the 54th minute. RBL got back into the game after Jonathan Taylor scored on the 65th minute but then Glebe shut up shop until the final whistle.       Referee Mr. Simon McKay

Brantwood got off to a quick start with Darren Hamilton scoring on the 2nd minute the Ryan McAuley equalised for the Corner on the 7th minute. Half-time saw the teams still level them two goals scored by Mark Rainey and Anthony Philpott on the 60th and 87th minutes sealed the win for Brantwood.           Referee Mr. Jimmy Johnston

Chances came and went for both teams during the ninety minutes but at the end no goals had been scored.

Sofia who started the season off on a high note have certainly hit a bad time recently conceding a lot of goals. Brantwood led by four foal score by Mark Tweedie on the 9th, 11th and 45th minutes and Peter Griffith on the 11th minute. More goals followed scored by Mary McAvoy (3), Steven Bainbridge, Steven Leckey (2), Gareth McAuley and Bryan Rainey.    Referee Mr. Gerry Murray

Newtowne went in front after Conor Logue scored on the 21st minute then he added a second on the 32nd minute. Conor Stewart got a goal back for Desertmartin on the 43rd minute before Conor Logue completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot on the 58th minute. Paul McIvor extended the Newtowne lead on the 71st minute followed by Mark Scott scoring for Desertmartin on the 74th minute. Billy Doran scored number five for Newtowne on the 82nd minute and Conor Stewart scored number three for Desertmartin on the 86th minute.      Referee Mr. Noel Crossan

Woodlands took an early lead in this game with Jonny Parkes scoring on the 4th minute then getting a second goal scored by Stuart McCullough on the 35th minute. Desertmartin got back into the game after Mark Larmour scored on the 48th minute the getting level after Ryan Brown scored on the 50th minute. After this both teams went for the winning goal but had to settle for a point each at the end.        Referee Mr. Bert Purdy

Brantwood went in front after Gareth McAuley scored on the 2nd minute and held the lead until Rowan Carroll equalised for the Sports on the 22nd minute. Sports went in front after Gerrard McCann scored on the 60th minute then Sam Morgan scored for Brantwood on the 61st minute. Rowan Carroll put Sports back in front on the 75th minute before Gareth McAuley equalised for Brantwood on the 82nd minute. Time was then almost up when Rowan Carroll completed his hat-trick to win the game for Sports scoring on the 89th minute.                Referee Mr. Tommy Waide

Both teams took a time to settle before Gary Hamilton put Clough in front on the 35th minute then Matt Fegan equalised for Mallusk on the 40th minute. Clough went in front for a second time after Lee Stewart scored on the 49th minute and held this lead until Stewart Mercer scored on the 78th minute giving the teams a point each at the end.             Referee Mr. Matthew Shaw

After a good start the 18th went in front after Sam Swann scored on the 10th minute and held this advantage until Steven Arrell scored the equaliser for the Colts on the 40th minute. The second half saw few chances except a penalty for the 68th when Keeper Eddie Bell saw his spot kick hit the wrong side of the Colts Post.             Referee Mr. Trevor Higgins

A win was a must for both teams in this game which started off well for Castle after Andy Hall scored a brace of goals on the 10th and 16th minutes. Killymoon got back on level terms with goals scored by Ricky Donaghy on the 28th minute and Stuart Donaghy on the 39th minute. Half-time was looming when Joel McMurtry scored for Castle on the 42nd minute then Warren Smyth equalised for Killymoon on the 51st minute. Joel McMurtry scored his second goal on the 52nd minute putting Castle back in front followed by John O’Neil equalising for Killymoon on the 58th minute. Both teams then went for the winning goal which went to Killymoon after Stefan Shields scored on the 84th minute.       Referee Mr. Samuel Forsythe

A semi-final place against Carrick Athletic was at stake in this game and the Rovers got off to an excellent start when Gareth Cromie scored on the 1st minute. Things then got better for the Rovers after Tommy Bownes scored their second goal on the 20th minute. Half-time came and the two goals still separated the teams and this scoreline remained until the final whistle.
