McReynolds Cup Final Coagh United v Glebe Rangers was played on Friday 5th May 2017 which Glebe won by virtue of a goal scored after 50 seconds of Play.


On Tuesday Night Wakehurst with a very late goal beat Glebe Rangers to take the Intermediate Division Runners-Up spot.


Junior Division One winners could be decided on Tuesday night when Newington YC Res host Woodlands at the Valley Playing Fields Newtownabbey. A win or a draw for Newington will ensure them the Title while it may require goal difference between Woodlands and Cookstown Youth provided the Youth win their final game against Sport & Leisure Swifts Res.


Friday Night 12th May 2017 will see the Final of the Canada Trophy Played when Woodlands meet Cookstown Youth at Allen Park. Antrim Kick off 7.00pm

Glebe got off to an explosive start in this game when straight from the kick off the ball was played to David Brown on the right wing who then crossed the ball for Ian Christie the head the ball into the top corner of the Coagh net with only 50 seconds of the game played. On the 17th minute Coagh put a good move together with Richard Donaghy shooting from 10 yard out but saw Chris Fullerton in the Glebe goal make a miraculous save. After this the game settled down and at half-time the single goal separated the teams. William Hassan in goal for Coagh then made a double save on the 55th minute to deny Richard Dunlop and Jake Francis a goal from close range. On the 61st minute David Brown on the right wing for Glebe played a neat back heel but saw his effort skim the post on its way past. Both teams had a chance or two after this then on the 88th minute Keeper Chris Fullerton excelled when tipping a shot from Aaron Campbell over the bar. The game then went into stoppage time with no more goals and after the final whistle the League Chairman Ian Shiels presented the Cup to the Glebe Rangers Captain Peter Kennoway.                   Referee Mr. Keith Halliday

Coagh who had already won the league title went in a at half-time leading by a goal scored by Keeper William Hassan who converted a penalty. Coagh went on to score three more goals through Aaron Campbell, Richard Donaghy and Jamie Tomelty. After the final whistle the League Chairman Ian Shiels presented the Connon Cup which dates back to 1897 to the Coagh United Captain James Ferguson to start off the Celebrations.

The League Runners-Up spot was at stake in this game with Glebe requiring the win while Wakehurst required a draw. Wakehurst were in the lead at half-time thanks to a goal scored by Lee McClelland then saw Ricky Dunlop equalise for Glebe early in the second half. Glebe went all out for the winner after this but got caught with Andy Laughlin scoring very late goal to win the game for Wakehurst. Referee Mr. Shane McGonigle

Though this was an end of season game both teams served up a lot of good football. Goals were not on the menu until after a goalmouth scramble Jonny Kane put Ballynure in front on the 40th minute. Chances then came and went for both teams during the second half then with the game in stoppage time Ryan Stewart converted a penalty for Ballynure.            Referee Mr. Mark O’Neil

This was a top of the table clash with the Youth needing to win to keep in touch with Newington who with a win would put the league Title out of the Youths reach. Newington went in front after Niall Southam scored on the 20th minute and at half-time this goal still separated the teams. Newington went two goals ahead after Daniel Moore scored on the 70th minute then got umber three when Pardep Hawa scored on the 82nd minute. The Youth to their credit never gave up pulling a goal back when Jon Scott scored on the 89th minute.

The Swifts went in front after Ciaran McKissock scored on the 15th minute and held this lead until Ryan O’Neil scored for Whiteabbey on the 42nd minute. Both teams had good chances to score during the second half but the third goal in the game was scored by Pearce Hickey on the 86th minute putting the Swifts back in front. Time was then running out quickly when Sean McKenna scored the equaliser for Whiteabbey on the 89th minute.
