The results on Saturday saw Bangor and St James Swifts forge ahead in the Intermediate Division and Newington YC Res break clear of Woodlands who had no game at the top of theJunior First Division. Clough Rangers Athletic and Castle Star made up ground on Killymoon Rangers who were on Cup duty at the top of the Junior DivisionTwo.

Wednesday Night is a very important date for Glebe Rangers who meet Queens University at Dixon Park Ballyclare in the semi-final of the IFA Intermediate Cup.

On the domestic front a number of mid-week games are planned for the Tuesday and Thursday nights.

                     INTERMEDIATE 

LEAGUE

BRANTWOOD 4 DUNLOY 3

Games between these two teams are always close and Saturday followed this formula. Marty McAvoy put Brantwood in fron on the 3rd minute then Mark Tweddie made it two nil on the 7th minute. Declan McGaryy scored for Dunloy on the 31st minute before Aaron Finn scored number three for Brantwood on the 33rd minute. Dunloy got back level after Kieran Hughes and Karl Fitzpatrick scored on the 49th and 85th minutes. With time running out Brantwood got the winning goal when Ross Cowan scored on the 86th minute. DESERTMARTIN 0 St JAMES SWIFTS 2

With this win St James keep up their challenge for league title honours but they certainly did not have an easy game against the Martins. Eugen Gallagher scored for the visitors on the 18th minute then got his second goal on the 82nd minute sealing the win.

CHIMNEY CORNER 3 COOKSTOWN RBL 3

The Corner went in front after David Gore scored on the 28th minute then saw Jon Taylor equalise for RBL on the 43rd minute. Mark Butler put the Corner back in front on the 70th minute then Jon Fergsaon equalised for RBL on the 78th minute.The game then went into stoppage time with Gary Donaldson putting RBL in front on the 95th minute followd by Mark Butler scoring the equaliser for the Corner on the 101st minute. The stoppage time was due to an injury to the Corner Keeper who its good to say had no serious damage.

COOKSTOWN YOUTH 1 BANGOR 5

Bangor maintined their place at the top of the league table after this win  in which Ben Roy put them in front on the 19th minute. The Youth gor back level after a sizzler of a shot from Kiefer Scott rattled into the Bangor net on the 35th minute. A bizarre goal on the 55th minute when the ball richochetted off the post and several player before ending up in the home net on the 55th minute. Mark Cooling scored number three for Bangor on the 57th minute then goals from Ethan Boyland and Gerard McMullan on the 74th and 82nd minutes completed the scoring. Referee Mr. Darren Hylands

              MID-WEEK LEAGUE GAMES

COOKSTOWN YOUTH 1 GLEBE RANGERS 3

Glebe went in front through a goal scored by Peter Kennoway on the 1st minute then Chad Dobbin made it two nil on the 10th minute.Paul Stewart pulled a goal back for the Youth on the 25th minute. Half-time was then beckoning when Chad Dobbin scored the final goal in the game for Glebe on the 44th minute. Mr. Jerome McElroy

COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC 2 GLEBE RANGERS 8

An own goal saw the Olympic in front on the 2nd minute then goals scored by Lee Mitchell Penalty 15th, Cameron Kane 32nd, Curtis McCartney 34th and another penalty from Lee Mitchell 43rd minutes saw Glebe four one in front at half-time. Four more goals in the second half for Glebe were scored by Lee Mitchell 50th, Cameroan Kane 55th, Adam Hart 75th and a own goal 85th minutes before Ryan O'Neil scored a second goal for the Olympic on the 87th minute. NEWTOWNE 10 SOFIA FARMER 1

The scored in this game at half-time was two one in favour of Newtowne then a complete collapse by Sofia in the second half saw Newtowne score anotergh eight goals withouit reply. Newtowne goals were scored by Paul McIvor 4, Declan Logue 2, Conor Logue, Oisin Hasson, Jack Heaney and an own goal with Matas Santos converting a penalty for Sofia. Referee Mr. Gary Crawford

         McREYNOLDS CUP SEMI-FINAL

BALLYNURE OB 0 COAGH UNITED 1

Both teams played it very tight in this game and as a reult there were few good clear chances to score thoughout the game. A the end Coagh claimed their palce in the final through a goal scored by Drew Kelly on the 52nd minute. Referee Mr David Kelly 

   JUNIOR DIVISIONS LEAGUE GAMES

ONE

3rd BALLYCLARE OB 2 BALLYNURE OB 'B' 2

At the end of this Ballyclare derby it was honours even with a point to each team. The 3rds had the better of the attacking play during the first-half and went two goals clear scored by Marc Campbell on the 35th and 48th minutes. Ballynure got back into the game after Mark Moore converted a penalty on the 70th minute then with time running down Lee Apsley scored on the 81st minute to level the score. Referee Mr. Brian Leitch

NEWINGTON YC RES 3 ANTRIM ROVERS 0

With this win Newington kept the pressure  on at the top of the league table but in the gme they had to wait for a goal scored by Daniel Moore on the 37th minute to break the tension. The single goal separeted the teams at half-time then a second goal scored by Fionntan McFarlane on the 57th minute and a thrid scored by Daniel Moore on the 67th minute saw Newington in a more relaxed form.

SPORT & LEISURE SWIFTS RES 0 BRANTWOOD RES 3

Brantwood went in front after Steven McCormick scored on the 13th minute then had to wait until Gareth McAuley scored on the 33rd minute for their second goal. Sports tried hard to get back into the game but after Gareth McAukley scored his second goal in the game on the 58th minute the resul was not in doubt. Referee Mr. Russell Wilson

 

TWO

CLOUGH RANGERS ATHLETIC 9 BRANTWOOD-LOUGHSIDE 1

Clough went in front after Malcolm McDonald scored on the 2nd minute then a hat-trick of goals for Ricky Ross on the 12th, 38th and 44th minutes saw Clough four nil in front at the break. Brantwood pulled a goal back after Curtis Woods scoredon the 63rd minute but goals scored by Gary Hamilton 64th, Lee Stewart 71st and three from Ricky Ross bringing his tally to six in the game on the 69th, 76th and 87th minutes completed the scoring. CASTLE STAR 10 COOKSTOWN RBL RES 0

Castle scored three goals in the fist-half and were seldom in trouble throughout the game. Castle goals were scored by Jonny Robb 4, Paul Garvey 2, Andy Hall 2, Paul Matthews and Nathan Poulter. Referee Mr. Matthew Shaw

             THREE

RATHCOOLE FC 4 CARNLOUGH SWIFTS        1

Rathcoole who had already won the league title were held by Carnlough until Glen Mayne scored on the 35th minute then Andy Neil scored a second on the 44th minute. Carnlough got back into the game after Fionntan Callan scored on the 65th minute. Carnlough tried hard for the equaliser but goals scored by Alex Crawford and Jordan Bright on the 83rd and 89th minutes sealed the win for Rathcoole. Referee Mr. Trevor Higgins. 

After the final whistle the league Vice CHairman Robert Fenton presented the league trophy to the Rathcoole  Captain.

BALLYCLARE NORTH END 1 68th NEWTOWNABBEY 'B' 3

The 68th went in front early after Lee Costello scored on the 6th minute and this goal separeted the teams at half-time. North End got back level after Sammy McGookin scored on the 53rd minute. 68th went in front again after Sammy Swain scored on the 62nd minute then sealed the win after Davy Blair scored on the 85th minute. Referee Mr. Rodney Campbell

 

LINDA WELSHMAN MEMORIAL CUP SEMI-FINAL

KILLYMOON RANGERS 3 COOKSTOWN YOUTH COLTS      2

This was a derby of a semi-final with the winning goal being scored in stoppage time. Killymoon went in front after Stefan Shields scored on the 6th minute then Rene Matiko equalised for the Colts on the 9th minute. Killymooon went in front again after William Frizelle scored on the 27th minute.Time was beginning to run down when Piotr Gabrystak scored for the Colts on the 81st minute. The game was then in stioppage time when Warren Smith scored the winner for Killymoon on the 94th minute.
