        SEASON 2017-18

For the first time in a number of seasons we had a complete blank day on Saturday with no games played this also included a number of Divisional Association Cup Games

Hopefully e will get back into action on Saturday 16th December as they league will then close down until Saturday 6th January 2018 except one game scheduled to be played on the 30th December. This will see Bangor host Glebe Rangers at the Bangor Fuels Arena kick off 2.00pm

Now is a time to reflect on the season so far:

Intermediate Division

A very interesting season is developing among the teams and due to IFA and Divisional Association Cup Competitions Cup Games there has become an imbalance with the number of league games played by each team

Currently we have Bangor at the top of the division on 21 points closely followed by Coagh United on 20 points. There is an old saying a bird in the hand is worth two in a bush and in the case of both Bangor and Coagh they have the points on the Board.

Quite a number of teams will be going all–out to catch Bangor and Coagh due to having games in hand over both.

Glebe Rangers have five games in hand on Bangor and four on Coagh and have to play both teams home and away..

Sofia Farmer have three games in hand on  Bangor and two on Coagh and amongst their game left to play are home to Bangor, away to Coagh and home and away to Glebe Rangers.

Dunloy have two games in hand on Bangor and one on Coagh and their games left to play include away to Bangor, Home and Away to Coagh, home to Glebe Rangers

Desertmartin have two games in hand on Bangor and one on Coagh and their games left to play include away to Bangor, home to Coagh and home and away to Dunloy, Sofia Farmer and St James Swifts.

St James Swifts similar to Glebe Rangers have five games in hand over Bangor and four in hand over Coagh but like all others will not approach any games as a walk in the park.

With the season being one of the best competitively there is no doubt the teams above will be pushed all the way by Brantwood, Ballynure OB. Newtowne, Chimney Corner, Cookstown RBL and Cookstown Youth..

These teams are more than capable of putting a good run together and will make their presence felt before the en d of the Season and the Champions Crowned

Junior Divisions

Currently Woodlands last season’s runners-up in the league are out on their own but Antrim Rovers, Newington YC Res, Brantwood Res and Cookstown Olympic have games in hand over Woodlands.

Antrim Rovers have four games in hand over Woodlands, Newington YC Res six, Brantwood Res five and Cookstown Olympic seven

Similar to the Intermediate Division Woodlands have the points on the board and the other will be playing catch up as the season progresses.

A very interesting run in to the seasons end is envisaged.

Clough Rangers Athletic have a clear lead at the top of the table at present  and suffered their first defeat of the season against Cookstown Youth Colts the previous Saturday

Killymoon Rangers, Mallusk Athletic, Cookstown Youth Colts and Castle Star with games in hand will be making every effort to catch Clough.

On the other side of the coin Clough have the points on the board and will no doubt be trying to gain maximum points from each game they have left to play

Carrick Athletic are currently sitting at the top of the table leading Rathcoole by six points but Rathcoole with five games in hand will be hoping to overhaul Carrick.

Close behind are Greenisland WM, Ballyclare North End and North Belfast United also have games in hand over Carrick Athletic but again points already gained are a big bonus when it comes down to the run in for Honours.

It is planned to level out the number of league games played by each team across all four divisions over the next few weeks.
