BALLYMENA and PROVINCIAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE
MICHELIN ATHLETIC CLUB
After Saturdays league games Wakehurst who had a good away win at Coagh United have gone clear of their pursuers at the top of the Intermediate Division. Sofia farmer who lost the Magherafelt derby 2-1 against the Sky Blues trail by Four points and Brantwood who won with a late goal at Dunloy are Six points behind. No doubt Glebe Rangers and Coagh who have a couple of games in hand over Wakehurst will be hoping to narrow the gap but Wakehurst have the points on the board.
Due to Cup games being played on Saturday there is no change at the top of the Junior Division League Tables.
COAGH UNITED 1 WAKEHURST FC 4
Coagh started off this game needing to take three points to narrow the gap on Wakehurst at the top of the league Table. The Sky blues earned the bragging rights after this result of a game played in difficult conditions. The Sky Blues overcame the conditions better than Sofia and went in front after Enda Lynn converted a penalty on the 25th minute. Half-time was then approaching when the Sky Blues went two goals ahead after Emmett McGuckin scored on the 38th minute. Sofia came out strongly in the second half but were held at bay by a well organised Sky Blues defence until Elton Carvglho scored on the 81st minute. Referee Mr. Ally Burns
