In the IFA Intermediate Cup Newtowne by virtue of a good away win on Saturday against Banbridge Rangers by the odd goal in three will now meet Donegal Celtic in the 4th Round at Scroggy Road on the 11th February. In teh Canada Trophy Antrim Rovers recorded a good three nil win over Rathcoole FC to reach the semi-final where they will meet the winners of FC Whiteabbey v Woodlands.

On the league front across all four divisions there was little change to the standings after Saturday’s results.

Wakehurst were quick off the mark in this game with Stewart Nixon scoring on the 2nd minute then the Corner got back level after David Hanna scored on the 25th minute. Half-time saw the team’s still level then on the 47th minute Stewart Nixon scored his second goal in the game putting Wakehurst back in front. Wakehurst increased their advantage after Lee McClelland scored on the 51st minute and held this scoreline until the final whistle.

Both teams kept it tight at the start of the game and it took a penalty for Coagh converted by Aaron Campbell on the 26th minute to break the deadlock. Dunloy got back on level terms after Con Og Boyle scored on the 36th minute and this score remained at half-time. The second half saw little to choose between the teams except the winning goal that Stefan Thompson scored for Coagh on the 79th minute.

Two sending offs late in the game which cost the Sky Blues dear at the end. Chances came and went for both teams but at half-time no goals had been scored. Things changed on the 55th minute when Caolan Devlin scored putting the Sky Blues in front. The Sky Blues were still in front as the game reached the 75th minute when they had a man sent off. Almost immediately Glebe equalised with Peter Kennoway scoring on the 77nd minute. Minutes after this the Sky Blues had a second player sent off on the 82nd  minute and again Glebe took full advantage with Lee Mitchell scoring what proved to be the winning goal on the 84th minute.

Ballynure went in front after Robert Watson scored on the 7th minute then doubled their lead after Dan Ellis scored on the 30th minute. Half-time saw Ballynure two goals ahead which became three after Craig Richardson scored on the 63rd minute. To their credit Desertmartin never gave up but conceded a fourth goal on the 72nd minute scored by Greg McFaul completing the scoring on the day.      Referee Mr. Colin Rainey

Newtowne got off to a great start in this cup-tie when Ryan Logue scored on the 3rd minute and held this lead until the home side equalised on the 25th minute. Half-time saw the team’s level then on the 49th minute Paul McIvor scored putting Newtowne back in front. After this both teams had a chance or two to score but at the end it was the odd goal in three that won the day for Newtowne.

Goals were certainly the order of the day in this derby game with the Youth collecting the three points at the final whistle. The Youth goals were scored by Mark Megarry (3), Ryan O’Neil (2) and Jack Wilson with Geoff Booth scoring both the RBL goals.       Referee Mr. Samuel Forsythe

This game played on a slick 3g surface suited both teams who moved teh ball at a fast pace. Newington went in front after Michael McArdle scored on the 9th minute then saw Paul Ryan score the equaliser for the Sports on the 21st minute. Half-time saw the teams still level then on the 51st minute Daniel Moore scored pitting Newington back in front. Newington went on to score there more goals through Daniel Moore 75th minute and a brace from Fintan McFarland on the 78th and 90th minutes.            Referee Mr. Tommy Waide

Ballyclare were soon into their stride and went in front after Sammy Duff on the 18th minute then doubled their lead after Andy Gilmore scored on the 22nd minute. Half-time came and the two goals separated still the team’s and though both had chances to score in the second half no more goals were scored. Referee Mr. Charlie Pollock

Chances came and went for both teams during the first-half but at half-time no goals had been scored. Things then changed early in the second half with Mark Moore scoring for Ballynure on the 51st minute. No more goals were scored after this until Sam Burns hit home the equaliser for the Strollers on the 90th minute.

Remo kept up their challenge at the top of the league table with this win. Half-time saw Remo in front thanks to a goal scored by Dee Lyness. Jason Bannon scored a second goal for Remo before Billy Brown scored for Mountainview on the 80th minute.              Referee Mr. Trevor Higgins

The remaining 30 minute of the game abandoned on the 24th September 2016 due to a flooded pitch were played on Saturday. Castle started off leading by three goals to one which was soon changed after Ricky Ross converted a penalty on the 3rd minute. Jonny Rice then scored for Clough on the 4th minute levelling the scores. Rocky Ross then missed a penalty on the 22nd minute before Jonny Rice scored the overall winning goal for Clough on the 27th minute.                    Referee Mr. Bert Purdy

Whitehead took an early lead after Stuart Thompson scored on the 6th minute then Lee Rossi equalised for Shore Road on the 12th minute. Half-Time was almost reached when Tony McKeown put Whitehead back in front on the 41st minute. Whitehead went on to score two more goals with Stuart Thompson completing his hat-trick scoring on the 78th and 84th minutes.   Referee Mr. Lee Patterson

Carnlough went in front after 68th conceded an own goal on the 6thminute then two goals scored by Henry Morgan on the 15th and 27th minute saw Carnlough three goals clear at half-time. 68th who had a mane sent off before half-time hit back with goals scored by Sammy Kelly and Jake Black. Time was then beginning to run down when Dylan McLaughlin scored goal number four for Carnlough on the 80th minute.

Both teams had chances to score during the first-half but at half-time the only goal scored was by Noel O’Connor on the 44th minute putting Red Star in front. North End got back level after Craig Jenkins scored on the 60th minute. Time was then running down when Ricky Johnson put Red Star in front on the 84th minute followed by Lee Taggart scoring the equaliser for North End on the 88th minute.                    Referee Mr. Brian Leitch

Both teams had a chance or two to score before Jonny Rogers opened the scoring for the Rovers on the 35th minute then followed this with his second goal on the 39th minute. The second half saw both teams go for goals then on the 71st Minute Rathcoole had a man sent off followed by a second sending off and a penalty awarded to the Rovers on the 89th minute. Jonny Rogers converted the penalty to complete his hat-trick then on the 92nd minute with the final whistle being blown Rathcoole had a third man sent off.
